My name is Tallulah Mbangweta, I study Law at university of University of Reading. My hobbies are acting, singing and just exploring my creative side. I was the Head Girl at my sixth form school from 2017 till 2018.
As a young person, I am passionate about the problems that affect my generation such as Mental Health, and in particular how it is not as widely received or understood in household's of African descent due to lack of information or believing that mental health is not as important as other aspects of your health.
My charity of choice is called Women Peace Network, it supports the elderly through community outreach programs. Changing family values and migration into cities has meant many Kenyans live away from their parents, making it harder for them to fulfill that traditional role of caring for them. Kenya has about 1.5million people aged over 60yrs.
Changes in the structure of society have left older people With challenges which were not previously experienced. Women Peace Network has come in to fill this gap, with collaboration from other stakeholders, Women Peace Network strive to ensure the elderly get adequate health care / home based care, and also Improve nutrition through food security and shelter. Please join me to support this worthy cause.
