Sweat For TAPA

5/15/2016

I had the opportunity to hold a work out class at my local church in Oxford Victory Revival Christian Centrer (VRCC).And we really did sweat for TAPA this was a fun day to get my community involved.
the images are self explanatory  the women didn't shy away from sweating in their Sunday best clothes!.Even the ones that didn't get involved encouraged us and donated.

Its a joy to see how many people are willing to contribute and do their best to make a difference to our community.

My Name is Mary-Anne currently living in Oxford,as a recent graduate with BA (Hons) Marketing, I understand the importance of education and how privileged I'am to have come this far. This drove me to join Face of Kenya UK 2016 , to be able to inspire and motivate even one child of my chosen charity. I know Face for Kenya UK is the platform for me to make a difference for many young Kenyans.I Visit Kenya regularly and each time I visit I'am filled with the drive and motivation to be a part of a better and a growing Kenya in a positive manor. I'am honoured to be part of Face of Kenya UK 2016 have visited this website so many times hesitating to become a contestant but I was constantly reminded of  my love for  Kenya and how I want to continue to share our roots, culture and all things beautiful about Kenya.
From a personal prospective Face of Kenya UK has a number of different structure such as:
  • Allowing us Kenyans to take charge of our destiny
  • provides a platform to be ourselves and represent our country
  • Continue to bring positivity, togetherness and love in our community
  • a great opportunity to be active and give back
My chosen charity  is Transform A Person Africa(TAPA) located in Kibera Kenya  the biggest slum in Africa.TAPA seek to address the plight of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), parents and caregivers (some living with HIV/AIDS) who find themselves in the unfortunate situation of lacking the life basic necessities for survival. As an ambassador I want to help TAPA's vision which is to transform peoples lives by providing hope and opportunities for better livelihood.
I cant express how grateful I'am to Face of Kenya UK for providing me with an opportunity to support and transform the lives of TAPA's vulnerable children and caregivers.

Your vote for me will be greatly appreciated.
