As a media studies graduate, I have a keen interest in all facets of media and communication. In my spare time I run and manage my own personal blog that is a style journal showcasing my own sense of style as well as offering the latest fashion trends and inspirations. This has opened up different avenues of opportunity allowing me to write guest feature articles and posts and to be featured in various social networks and media entities. My charity of choice is Project1917, a charity that supports orphaned children in Kenya to continue with their secondary education. It provides bursaries for children in Kenya so that they may obtain the knowledge and skills needed for a worthwhile employment and to escape the poverty trap. From a very young age, I was taught the value of education and this is a principle that has remained with me since. Project1917 provides a platform for self growth and empowers orphaned children to reach their fullest potential in life. As the young generation are the future, Project1917 plays a crucial role in ensuring that what lies ahead for these children is a brighter future.

    LAVINIAH KARANJA

I am a highly driven, hard working and ambitious media studies graduate. My goal in life is to fulfill my potential and leave an indelible mark in this world and in the lives of others. As a Kenyan diaspora, I have been privileged to experience life in my homeland Kenya and in the UK and I aim to be a positive representative of the Kenyan Diaspora in the UK and the world.

I am honoured to be a part of Face of Kenya UK 2014 and to engage in this outstanding social platform that seeks to integrate the Kenyan diaspora in the UK and the world at large, while establishing Kenyan ambassadors that positively portray Kenya and promote all that is great about our nation.

Your vote for me will be greatly appreciated!
