KENYA, A BEAUTY UNTOLD

Hello all,

I am fresh off my travels in Kenya and I have returned rejuvinated and with even more vigor for this contest and to represent my charity of choice-Project1917. Kenya as a nation and county has so much to offer in it's undeniable beauty through nature, land marks, extensive wildlife, food and culture, all but to name a few and it's not until you envisage it and you are in the midst of it that you truly appreciate all that it offers. I have had an incredible journey and experiences in the weeks I've spent in Kenya, travelling far and wide as far as Mombasa and Nairobi to Naivasha, taking time to explore and indulge in the beauty that surrounds Kenya and enjoying the sweet delicacies and food of course. From the bountiful portions of exotic fruits to drinking coconut water and enjoying a feast platter of Nyama Choma, Kachumbari with Avocado and a side of ugali, not to forget a delightful plate of Chapati with pilau rice and stew! Some of my key destinations such as the south coast of Mombasa  offered beautiful, picturesque white sandy beaches and palm trees, while the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort in Naivasha offered panoramic view of Lake Naivasha. The view stretched from the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha to the volcanic crater of Mount Longonot and beyond the Aberdare mountains! I was full of joy when by sheer luck I encountered a herd of Zebras simply grazing along the side of the road on the way back from Mombasa and I have to say that they are truly a beauty to behold! I learnt a fascinating fact, did you know that their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual? In addition, to my suprise I saw a giraffe from a distance, what is the likelihood of  having such encounters in a single day, it can only be in Kenya! From this I can only begin to assimilate the beauty of Kenya, a great beauty untold.
