Having known Jesca since her childhood, the humble beginnings plus the struggles she overcame to be where she is now, i get inspired and using Lupita Nyongo's words 'no matter where you come from, your dreams are valid', the dreams of a young disadvantaged child should not be allowed to waste for every person have their potential and it's our cardinal responsibility to ensure service to humanity.
My vote goes to Jesca for i know supporting Kapchesewes Children's Home is in her heart and this will go a long way to validate the dreams of an orphan.

Samuel, I concur with you. This girl has come from far and she will make her poor locals proud if she is given a chance!

In every Village/Community there is always a role model to the young needy children out there, they can go without food or a drink for weeks but at the end of the day, however dark it is, a shining star is enough to strike some light into their path and give them hope. That star is Jesca Kiplagat. Go Girl, as Samuel Kipchumba puts it above, YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID.

Congratulation and let your heart continue to take a mileage to help those that you can. Your story brings it home to many other children and reminds us what giving to charity is all about. I wish you every success in your exams in London school of economics and when you return home to marakwet my prayer is you are in a position to help improve girls education and livelihood of your community. If you get a chance please visit our centre in Njoro Kenya where you can strengthen, motivate and give hope to 81 and 80 guardians. Thank you for bringing the reality of some of the disadvantaged children that need help and support. My very best wishes in your chosen career path.

    My Profile

I am 28 years Kenyan Lady, 5.4. I am Masters Student at London School of Economics Pursuing a MSc in Development. I was brought up and also pursued my Primary,Secondary and Undergraduate Studies in Kenya.  Before i came to London I was working with Equity Group Foundation Scholarship Program, which sponsor over 9000 scholars to pursue High School and Undergraduate studies in various schools in Kenya an abroad.
I was brought up in a rural village in Rift Valley Province of Kenya and in a very humble background. Most part of my studies was paid by well-wishers and charities. My Masters at London School of Economics is fully funded by charity.

I am participating in this years Face of Kenya UK because having it is a channel that will enable me give back to my community. My education was funded by charities and i will only be fulfilled if i will bring light to a poor child's education through funding a charity that will sponsor a child from a humble background as myself.

I love Kenya because it is my mother land. I have stayed in Kenya for almost all my life and i can never imagine staying away from my lovely country. I love the warmth of the people, the food, the weather, the Wild animals and the beautiful beaches that attract tourists from all over the world, beautiful hotels, the peace, and more so it is a home of athletics champions.
I believe in youth empowerment through education, training, naturing talents, entreprenuership and many more. The youths are the future Kenya. They are the future leaders. This will only come to pass if the Kenyan leaders invest and empower them. With empowered youths, i believe by 2030, we will live in a Kenya free from poverty.

My hobbies are dancing, reading, watching movies, capacity building and listening to music.
