Hello My People,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for the support you gave during my stay here in the UK. Special thanks especially for your support during my journey of being the Face of Kenya UK 2014 Winner.  I could not be the person I am today without the support of each one of you.

To the Founder of the Face of Kenya UK Janet Wainaina, you are one of a kind. Not only did you support me in my journey to being the FOKUK 2014 winner but also offered me motherly love and advice when I needed it most. You were so encouraging and you made every bit of my stay in the UK fulfilling. MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

It is now time for me to go back to Kenya to pursue my career and serve the Nation. I am going home a different person. As the Face of Kenya UK 2014 winner, I will fulfil my duties to represent the Kenyans in the UK and serve the vulnerable in our country. I will be supporting my charity of choice KapchesewesChildrens Home as well as participate in other nation building activities.

I am therefore wishing you well here in the UK. We will keep in touch. Follow me on my facebook account Jesca Kiplagat, Facebook page Jesca Kiplagat, Twitter Jesca.kiplagat, Instagram jescakiplagat.

Thank you so much,

Jesca Kiplagat,

FOKUK 2014.

    My Profile

I am 28 years Kenyan Lady, 5.4. I am Masters Student at London School of Economics Pursuing a MSc in Development. I was brought up and also pursued my Primary,Secondary and Undergraduate Studies in Kenya.  Before i came to London I was working with Equity Group Foundation Scholarship Program, which sponsor over 9000 scholars to pursue High School and Undergraduate studies in various schools in Kenya an abroad.
I was brought up in a rural village in Rift Valley Province of Kenya and in a very humble background. Most part of my studies was paid by well-wishers and charities. My Masters at London School of Economics is fully funded by charity.

I am participating in this years Face of Kenya UK because having it is a channel that will enable me give back to my community. My education was funded by charities and i will only be fulfilled if i will bring light to a poor child's education through funding a charity that will sponsor a child from a humble background as myself.

I love Kenya because it is my mother land. I have stayed in Kenya for almost all my life and i can never imagine staying away from my lovely country. I love the warmth of the people, the food, the weather, the Wild animals and the beautiful beaches that attract tourists from all over the world, beautiful hotels, the peace, and more so it is a home of athletics champions.
I believe in youth empowerment through education, training, naturing talents, entreprenuership and many more. The youths are the future Kenya. They are the future leaders. This will only come to pass if the Kenyan leaders invest and empower them. With empowered youths, i believe by 2030, we will live in a Kenya free from poverty.

My hobbies are dancing, reading, watching movies, capacity building and listening to music.
