My name is Nancy,I am the Director of Mamma Oliver Foundation. My background is Public health.I have specialised in programmes in health promotion and prevention, addressing stigma, providing psychosocial care and enabling community empowerment.
As a Public Health practitioner I got the habit of approaching any problem from a wider angle. I now always look for all possible influence factors, trying to identify a problem’s root causes and consequences that might not be obvious at first sight. It requires critical thinking to identify the core problems and creativity across all disciplines to solve them which is useful everywhere.
I was born and raised in one of the dry parts of kenya.Although my parents (a teacher and a business man)worked hard and gave me the best education ,I saw my friends leave school because they lacked school fees ,my neighbours go without food and walk long distances to fetch water.
Mama Oliver Foundation is a dream come true to me.This is my way of giving back to the universe and passion in life.
I have being sponsoring children in kenya by paying their school fees for over a decade.
My son is my source of inspiration.
I am also working with community champions and individuals to create health awareness and hygiene in rural areas with intent of providing clean water and toilets in every home.
