My name is Melissa Kibathi. This year I'm running for face of Kenya to support orphaned children. Statistically there are 19.15 million children in Kenya, 46% of which are suffering from poverty, living in urban slums and are very vulnerable. That's just about half of the population. You could be the one to give one child a chance a happy loving home , an education furthermore lead on to pursue their ambitions and goals. There are also critical issues affecting children in Kenya for an example malnutrition , poverty , malaria, an also increased growth of HIV/AIDS. These children hold our future in their hands , they are the next upcoming generation for Kenya ; some may aspire to become pilots, doctors, members of parliament , lawyers and many other various important people within society. The reason why I have chosen to support orphaned children is because I aspire to become a paediatric doctor as I am currently studying medical science. Taking on this role challenges my passion in working with kids. It is my long term goal to offer the support children need and I will invest all my time in. I've also been involved with other campaigns regarding helping children and young youths. As an ambassador for Face of Kenya i would like to make a change and have a positive impact on children in Kenya. Your donation could help to bring a better quality of life to at least one child out of 9.5 million who may be suffering from critical issues.
My names Melissa I'm Studying medical science I Live in London God & family first. Kenya is a beautiful country , there can be many opportunities for both young and old if we reached out to the community. I feel the government don't use the funds correctly due to corruption and there is no order in place. I want to target mainly young people , because when I last went to Kenya which was last year August to September I saw many young people astray on streets.
